Within this section you will find a range of Financial Support options that are available to help assist with and remove financial barriers that can be experienced by young people within the Mallee.
Chances for Children – Financial Counselling
Chances for Children has 3 separate funds to support children and young people in the Mallee, Chances Fund, Keeping Kids at Secondary School Fund and Connecting Kids with Community Fund.
VET FEE-HELP is available to assist eligible students studying higher level vocational education and training (VET) qualifications to pay their tuition fees.
The HECS-HELP scheme is both a student loan and a student discount. Eligible students may access a HECS-HELP loan to pay their student contribution amount.
Victorian Government Training Guarantee
The Victorian Training Guarantee makes vocational training more accessible to people who do not hold any post school qualifications or those who wish to gain a higher level qualification than they already hold.
NDIS Financial Support for Disabled Students
If you have a disability that is likely to be permanent and significant you can receive funding from the NDIS. The NDIS funds reasonable and necessary supports to help you reach your goals and aspirations.
Centrelink Student Start-up Loans
A voluntary loan you can apply for up to twice a year if you’re an eligible higher education student. (Replaced the Start-Up Scholarship that ended July 1st 2017).
